Outdoor Recreational Fires and Open Burning are Restricted

Fire Marshals from City of Spokane Fire Department (SFD), Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD), Spokane County, City of Cheney, City of Airway Heights, and the City of Deer Park have all enacted the Fire Danger Burn Restriction effective Monday, July 20, 2020. With high temperatures in the forecast, all Cities and Fire Agencies want to keep area communities safe from fire risk by reducing the number of human-caused wildfires.

Visit Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency or DNR.WA.GOV for information on what is permitted and what is not.

Don’t wait until you see smoke in the air to sign up for your FREE Firewise Risk Assessment!

It is important that landowners in the Spokane area can prevent catastrophic wildfire damage to home and property by using Firewise principles. Spokane County residents are eligible to get a FREE Firewise Risk Assessment to evaluate your home’s risk. A District Forester will visit your property for approximately one hour and will provide you with a list of practical ways to lessen your wildfire risk. Learn more.
